In response to the client's needs, a single-family home of 175 m² of built area was designed — a single-story residence that prioritizes functionality and spatial experience through the integration of its social areas. The proposal is developed under an open concept that allows a direct relationship with the exterior, enhancing views and the connection with the natural surroundings.
The spatial layout is resolved through a circulation scheme that efficiently connects the private areas with the social zone, achieving a balance between openness and privacy. The project incorporates a comprehensive approach that ensures coordination among the different systems, guaranteeing its technical and constructive feasibility.
The environmental conditions of the site — particularly humidity and constant rainfall — present a challenge in terms of building protection and interior comfort. Strategies such as roofs with overhanging eaves, natural ventilation, and control of water impact on the façade are implemented to improve the project's performance. At the structural level, the challenge focuses on maintaining spatial openness through an efficient system that minimizes the interference of load-bearing elements. The correct placement of supports and the optimization of structural sizing make it possible to achieve a balanced solution, consistent with the project's conditions and economic feasibility.
